Ever wonder how is it like to have a cup of java along the streets of Shanghai, during the mid 30's? You do not have to use your imagination anymore, as SP Setia has recreated the mid 30's street of Shanghai experience in the forth floor of Setia Walk Mall, Puchong

This floor is known as Grand Shanghai Food Theme Park, and it is filled with food and beverage stalls and restaurants, with decorations based on mid 30's Shanghai lifestyle, paintings, red lanterns, antique cars, and trishaws.

Environment:
During the 1930s, Shanghai was made a municipality, and was known as 'The Paris of the East, the New York of the West'. One century has passed since the British East India Company first step foot in Shanghai, and along with them came the western culture, including coffee brewing.

Thus, Setia Walk Mall's Grand Shanghai will be missing out if there isn't any cafe in here. Introducing the Coffee Factory
Cafe along the mid 30's Shanghai street.
First time walking around Grand Shanghai might feel like walking in a maze, but one wouldn't miss the Coffee Factory. With the cafe's name lighted up with bright white light bulbs, Coffee Factory looks like a big booth along the streets, with spaces gated with black steel dividers and carpeted with artificial grass, and tables and chairs for patrons to relax and enjoy a doze of caffeine in the middle of mid 30's Shanghai.

Coffee Factory's interior has the east meets west enchantment to it, with the chandelier, leather sofas, and the obvious British flag sits illustrate the British charms. Chinese opera singing being broadcast-ed around Grand Shanghai really brings out the olden Shanghai environment (as since on TV, I am not that old) :P
Chinese + British influence in Coffee Factory's decors.

Food & Beverage:
All the usual espresso-based coffee is served here. Besides those, there are single origins, and some really expensive ones such as Jamaican Blue Mountain and Luwak Coffee.

But the beverages that are unique to Coffee Factory are their mocktail coffees, like the one in the mocktail glass below. It is called Grand Lava, a mix of cherry syrup, chocolate, coffee and blended ice cubes in it. Sweet stuffs that the sweet teeth will enjoy :)
Grand Lava (left) and Cappuccino (right).
Coffee Factory serves food too: mains such as big breakfast, spaghetti, salads and omelettes; sandwiches with fillings such as chicken, duck, and salmon; and light fried snacks such as fries, wedges, nuggets and chicken wings.
Smoked Duck Sandwich.
For dessert, cakes are available. The best looking one (in my opinion) is the Green Tea Mousse - light and fluffy texture with sweet red bean fillings in it. Guess there is some Japanese influence here too :)

Verdict:
A unique mid 30's Shanghai street atmosphere complimented with good coffee. Try Coffee Factory's mocktail coffee, and together with the olden China metropolitan environment, both render a distinctive cafe experience, unique from the rest.

  8. I am going to introduce you to something very good and unique only for you which is Artificial Grass. Do you know about it or not? If not, then don’t worry I will tell you about it. Basically, the Artificial Grass looks like natural grass but it’s not natural grass. It is made up of synthetic fiber. It is mostly used where people play. By the way, most people play on natural grass. Nowadays it is used on residential lawns and also used in commercial places. If you want to know how to install then I suggest you to visit How to Install Artificial Grass on Concrete Wall.
